| Library H1N1 Flu Preparedness Information
If the University is Open:
The Library will remain open as long as the University is open. Hand sanitizer is provided at the front entrance and in the Mud Box café. Individuals who are sick are asked to avoid entering the library.
Students who live on campus may request the delivery via campus mail of library books by sending an email from their AU student email account to the Circulation Department, including their AU ID, current campus address (for delivery), current permanent address (for identity verification), and the titles they are requesting.
Alternatively, students, staff, and faculty may arrange to have a proxy (who must also be a current AU student, staff, or faculty member) who is authorized to check out materials in their name. This is a temporary extension of our current Faculty Proxy Program. More details including the required form.
If the University is Closed:
Should the University close for any reason, the building will be closed and all on site events cancelled. During a closure, online reference will be provided via email and chat through the AskALibrarian link found at the top of the library home page.
Interlibrary loan and Consortium Loan services will not be provided. Access to books and other print materials from the collection will also not be available during this time.
Researchers will have access to over 250 library databases and thousands of online journals and ebooks through the web from on or off campus. Faculty can request that additional titles be added to their course reserves as ebooks by contacting the Reserves Department. Not all titles will be available this way, as it depends on publisher availability and the library's existing licenses.
